Has anyone heard about Christopher Meloni not coming back for season 13th in Law and Order SVU?

If you know more to his terrible news. I read an article saying that Christopher Meloni aka "Elliot Stabler" not coming back for a 13th season but does that mean hes gone for good? Or will he possibly come back in a 14th season. The same thing goes with Mariska Hargity aka "Olivia Benson" Though most likely the show will get canceled if thost two are not in it but if somehow it wasnt canceled would Christopher and Mariska ever come back for another season?
